Roelf Meyer in conversation with Ian Fuhr.

TIME: 12h00 – 13h00

The Hatch Institute brings you an exclusive webinar event featuring Roelf Meyer, the founder of the In Transformation Initiative– a non-profit organization that works to promote peace, dialogue, and reconciliation in South Africa and beyond.

Roelf Meyer went from National Party Apartheid Minister to Chief Negotiator in the transition to democracy and co-writer of the South African Constitution. Working alongside Cyril Ramaphosa, Roelf played an instrumental role in the negotiations to end the apartheid system in South Africa and the establishment of a democratic constitution.

Learn about Roelf Meyer’s historic journey of transformation in the ultimate paradigm shift and the challenging process that involved. He will share valuable lessons on:

  • How he recognised the need for change and went about transforming his own mindset.
  • The importance of building trust to drive positive change.
  • How, when the negotiations hit a brick wall, he managed to convince FW de Klerk and the National party to fundamentally forsake their long-held beliefs
  • His views on the current situation in South Africa

“It is possible to resolve a conflict, even one that lasted for more than three centuries.’- Roelf Meyer

The interview will be hosted by Ian Fuhr- Serial Entrepreneur and Founder of the Sorbet Group and the Hatch Institute. Ian specialises in leadership, people development, race relations and building corporate cultures that are obsessive about customer service. Author of three books, he is the creator of Cultureneering™ , a framework to create a new breed of culture-driven leaders who require specific skills to meet the complex demands of our volatile socio-political and economic landscape.

This promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring conversation. We hope to see you there!
